Durham Tees Valley International Airport, near Darlington, ranks as one of the
fastest growing regional airports in the UK, handling over 750,000 passengers a year. Following a 3.4 million pound improvement programme, the airport provides exellent
modern facilities for passengers, and is capable of handling aircraft of all sizes.
The airport has a growing number of operators offering an assortment of useful flight
destinations to UK cities, the channel islands and Europe.
There is only one terminal at Durham Tees Valley (formerly Teeside Airport), with both check-in-desks and arrivals located on the main concourse.
Callers Pegasus and Thomas Cook are located in the main terminal and provide foreign currency/travellers cheque facilities. There is also an ATM. Those requiring postal
facilities will find a post-box located in the main terminal.
Shopping
The Terminal offers a spacious Departure Lounge, the Cafe Oasis Restaurant, Yard of Ale Pub, travel agency, children's play area, a duty free shop, as well as W H Smith
for newspapers and magazines.
W H Smith stocks a superb range of newspapers, books, magazines, stationery and confectionery in the airport terminal whilst Alpha Retail offer books and magazines in
the departure lounge in addition to a full range of duty and tax free goods.
Business Travellers
Business travellers will find BMI business and diamond class lounges situated airside and adjacent to Gate 4, with entry dependant upon passenger and ticket type.
Disabled Facilities
Those with special needs will find special allocated spaces in the car-park, while the terminal building provides easy access to all areas with lifts and disabled toilets
located in the terminal.
