General
With more than 40 airlines arriving here, bringing in 14 million passengers
from 100 destinations, Stansted has become an important air terminal for London and the Midlands. It services mainly European destinations.
Several budget airlines operate out of or usually use Stansted; it is spacious and a lot less busy the Heathrow and Gatwick, certainly convenient for North London residents.
The airport’s simple design, monorail and smaller size make connections easy.
Shopping
Stansted also offers good shopping and conveniences that are available to both travellers and the general public. There are several good duty free shops within the departures
hall; remember to produce your boarding card and be aware that a sale may be declined if your flight is busy boarding. Duty free concessions are not available when flying
within the EU. Boots (pharmacy), HMV (music), the Tie Rack and several other well-known retailers are represented at Stansted.
There are a number of buffet style restaurants and two bars within the departure hall, as well as services available to the public in arrivals.
Disabled Facilities
In accordance with EU directives, Stansted meets the stipulated requirements for use by people with special physical needs. To arrange help call: + 44 (0) 870 000 0303.
